Outpatient Biopsy Instructions
• You should have someone drive you home and someone to be with you until morning. If you have received sedation, you should not drive for 24 hours.

• You should avoid strenuous activities or heavy lifting for at least 24 hours.

• You may experience some mild discomfort at the puncture site.

• Tylenol is recommended for mild pain.

• Aspirin is not recommended because it can increase the risk of bleeding.

• Abnormal symptoms of the area biopsied to report include excessive bleeding, drainage, or swelling at the puncture site, pain not relieved by medication, and fever greater than or equal to 101 F degrees.

• Should you experience abnormal symptoms, please contact the Radiologist at the hospital where you had the procedure:
